Summertime Saints

I hope everyone is getting a chance to soak in the summer season. It’s a wonderful time to get outdoors, linger on patios, sample all of the seasonal fruits, stay up late, and slow down enough to enjoy God’s beauty in the world around us.

We’ll have one such opportunity in just over a week. As you might have heard, our Juneteenth celebration with the Voices Project and the Portland Pickles was rained out. But the good news is you can still catch the game with Rev. Leroy Barber and other Saints on July 3. Tickets are still available online. We also have a few free tickets to pass along if you are interested.

Don’t forget to submit your creative works for the art show we are hosting on July 9. We are opening it up to the greater Episcopal community, so if you know other Episcopalians who might like to participate, please let them know. We’d love to have friends of All Saints (people who are connected to our parish through our Outreach, neighborhood involvement, etc) participate as well. Help us get the word out and be sure to come enjoy the show and reception at 11:15 on July 9 (after the 10:15 service).

This week we’ll continue with our 8am, 9:15 (outdoor) and 10:15 summer services. We’ll talk about how Jesus’ unconventional wisdom can heal our families, churches and social systems when put into practice. And next Sunday we’ll celebrate the holiday weekend with prayers, reflections and extra special homebaked treats.
