Rector's Note: We are the Body of Christ

Dear Saints,

In many ways, figuring out church in the pandemic has been like a moving target. With things changing so often, sometimes it’s hard to know where to focus.

However, one thing that is clear in talking with parishioners. We love this church. We love each other. Staying connected through this is one of our greatest values.

As our Vestry and parish leaders have been working to foster these connections, here are some things we all can do to help:

1. Get your picture taken for the directory after services on November 21 (if you haven’t already) or send a picture to office@allsaintspdx.org.
2. Request a name-tag if you don’t have one and wear it on Sunday morning if you do.
3. Let us know if you want Enews and sermons mailed to you (or if you know someone who does since they are not on this email!). We stopped doing this when we resumed in person services, but the reality is it’s still needed for some of us to stay in the loop.
4. Let me know if you want to get together or talk on the phone, or if you know someone I should reach out to. We also have a growing number of lay people and clergy to offer home Communion visits.

I don’t have all the answers for how to do church in the pandemic, but I know I can’t do it without you. That’s what being the body of Christ is about. We put our arms out to each other. We lift each other up. Sometimes we are the ones leaning and sometimes we are the ones propping up. When we do this, no one is left behind.

This Sunday, I look forward to our Welcome & Orientation after the 10:15am service, another way we can deepen our connections as we grow together in Christ.
