Rector's Note: Happy Thanksgiving! | All Saints Episcopal Church

Dear Saints,

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I wanted to pass along a few resources that might be helpful:

This thought provoking article from author and religious commentator Diana Butler Bass, titled “The Turkey Hostage Situation: Rethinking the Table Ritual of Giving Thanks." It gives great insight on how to better frame our expressions of gratitude so that it’s not forced, but a rich spiritual practice.
I’ve included some prayers from the Book of Common Prayer that can be used as the prayer before the Thanksgiving meal or as one’s prayer for the day below.
If you are free this evening, come join me at Trinity Cathedral’s Thanksgiving Eve service at 5:30pm where I will be the guest preacher.

Our 8:00 A.M. Holy Communion, Rite 1 Service, held in the Chapel, is our most traditional service. All are welcome. Our 10:15 A.M. Holy Communion, Rite II Service, held in the Sanctuary, includes a Sermon, Readings, and Hymns. You can participate In-Person or in the Live Premiere on our Facebook page or watch on our website. The current bulletin and service can always be found in the Online Worship section of our website. All are welcome.
