Rector's Note: Exciting Updates

Dear Saints,

I have some exciting news to share. First, know that we have had a great response to our recent Woodstock Pantry fundraiser. As you’ll see in the report from our treasurer, Jerry Meter, we currently have $23,488 in our Pantry fund, $8,320.21 of which has come from the wider community. People’s generosity toward this effort has been incredible and we are so close to our goal.

This makes it all the more exciting to announce that our neighborhood Laughing Planet has reached out this last week to see if we wanted to partner on a fundraiser — with 10% of weekend sales going to the Woodstock Pantry. The people at Laughing Planet are excited about what the Pantry is doing and wanted to do what they could to support it. Not only could this help us close the gap to meet our goal and give the Pantry a long-term, sustainable home. It’s also affirmation of the way God is bringing us all together to lift up our neighbors. Right now we are looking at a weekend in May for the fundraiser. We will be sending out an email with the finalized details once we have them, as well as an event specific email that you can forward to friends.

In other exciting news, Pentecost is exactly one month away (May 23). We are planning some extra special ways to celebrate, whether you are worshipping in-person or at home. We will also be having a 9:00am outdoor service as we did on Palm Sunday and Easter. You can RSVP for it, as well as all of our upcoming in-person services here.

Finally, this Sunday, in addition to our regular offerings, we will continue Part 2 of our workshop on What Death Can Teach Us About Living, with a special emphasis on Funeral Planning and other preparations that can help loved ones. I took so much away from our discussion last week and look forward to this next part, which is something I care a great deal about. If you missed the first session, still feel free to join us. The Zoom info is below.

Blessings to you all this weekend. Keep on looking for those ways that God is leading us, guiding us, and equipping us for the work we are called to do.
