Rector's Note: “And a little child shall lead them.” Isaiah 11:6

Dear Saints,

I have been loving our Sunday morning worship this summer. It has been a joyful experience to have people worshipping on campus again while also continuing to see people worship online.

At the 9:00am outdoor family service, what has been most meaningful to me has been having the children lead us. Hearing the readings in their voices. Receiving Communion from a basket that they hold up. Watching as they run around before and after the service or augment our songs with their instruments. It fills me up every time, and I hear other adults say the same. It’s a great example of what the different generations have to offer each other and what happens when we give them the opportunity to participate.

This Sunday, our gospel reading is about the feeding of the five thousand — a miracle inspired by the faith and generosity of a child. I will be preaching about how we can look at our challenges with a sense of God’s abundance.

I will also be available after the 10:15am service to talk about the Master Plan drawings, which are now on display in the Parish Hall. Please don’t forget to get your surveys to us by August 1. We will have more paper copies available on Sunday morning.
