Rector's Note: Advent & Christmas at All Saints

Dear Saints,

What a beautiful start to Advent we had this last Sunday! I loved getting to sing our Advent hymns, experience the worship move into a more reflective and expectant tone, and watch our kids get to make their own Advent wreaths to take home.

With so many things happening around this time, I wanted to give you a list of all the different All Saints Advent and Christmas offerings (see below). Notably, this Sunday we will get a visit from St. Nicholas, and on the Sunday before Christmas we get a return visit from the baby goats!

If you are still looking for an Advent practice, I highly recommend the Trinity “Advent Calendar” podcast. They put up a new meditation for every day in Advent that you can listen to as you’re driving into work, as a mid-day retreat at lunch, or whenever it fits in your schedule. You can find it here or in iTunes Podcast listed under “Sermons from Trinity Cathedral Portland.” The Advent Calendar for resiliency shared with us by Deacon Liz is another wonderful opportunity that weaves together her photography and daily reflections.

This Sunday we also have the Master Plan discussion session following both services in the Parish Hall. This is your opportunity to vote with stickers and help the Vestry know what to prioritize in our initial phases. If you aren’t able to attend, but want to weigh in, please email me.

Have a safe and peaceful weekend.

Andria+
