All Saints Feeding Ministry Featured in Episcopal News Service
Dear Saints,
What a great week at All Saints! You might have seen, we were featured in an Episcopal News Service article for our feeding ministry.
Additionally, this last Tuesday, we had our Lowe’s Red Vest Day as one of the Lowe's Hometown Grant recipients. As part of that, Lowe’s sent nine volunteers who removed weeds from the hill on the north side of Knight street. They cleared out sixty bags of debris, put in new plants, and covered the area with mulch. You can see it in the before and after pictures in this email and in person on Sunday morning. What a difference this has in making our campus inviting and welcoming to those we serve. Thank you Lowe's volunteers, Woodstock Pantry volunteer Matt Morozosky and Judy Clark and Nancy Carr for their leadership in the design and implementation.
We were also able to purchase a new appliances to support Hot Meals and the Pantry. Our refrigerator and freezer recently stopped working. Almost as soon as the need came up, donations emerged so that we were able to purchase both. What a blessing!
As I mentioned last week, with the Pantry build getting closer, we will be temporarily moving storage into the church building. This is an important next step in where God has been calling us. Bishop Diana Akiyama mentioned this in her letter, which you can read below, or hear in last Sunday’s sermon.
This Sunday we'll study another fascinating parable from the Gospel of Matthew, something called the "parabolic trap," and explore how it helps reveal the enduring and extravagant nature of God's grace.
