Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a dedicated (behind the scenes) group of men and women whose primary mission is to prepare and maintain our sanctuary for use by God’s family. We prepare and maintain the Altar and Elements to be used in the Eucharistic Service (Bread, Wine, Linens, Napkins, Chalice) for regular Sunday Worship Services, Special Services for Lent, Easter, Christmas, Baptisms, Weddings and Funeral Services, as well as other special events. We make sure the Consecrated Elements are in place in the Tabernacle when needed and fill the Eucharist Kits for the Eucharistic Visitors. We prayerfully and properly clean all Eucharistic Vessels, paying special attention to how items are handled and cleaned and how remains of Consecrated Elements are disposed of. Additional responsibilities include placement of Altar Flowers and Candles, and care of all Linens. We provide Flowers at the Altar and in celebration of Christmas and Easter. All of the work of the Altar Guild is done in a spirit of reverence and prayerfulness. Making worship for our congregation and friends is truly the Guild’s privilege.
